  • Perfect for aluminum, steel, stainless steel and titanium
  • Creates a strong adhesive base for Spray.Bike colored paints
  • Recommended layers: at least 1
  • Drying time: 20 minutes

  • This primer can be used on steel frames as a modern alternative to Spray.Bike Cold-Zinc

Using Frame Builder's Metal Primer
Our Metal Primer is a general purpose, white colored acrylic product that contains some clever ingredients to make it corrosion resistant and therefore prevent rust.
It is perfect for use on aluminum, steel, stainless steel or titanium framesets.
Since it's acrylic, it's pretty easy to use. However, it is "wet", so please keep the spray distance of at least 20 cm, otherwise it will drip.
Because it's made of acrylic, it can be sanded when dry - so you can eliminate mistakes.
Its white color is also practical as you can easily see which areas you have already sprayed!
Please note that this primer is only intended for exterior painting of pipes - it is quite thick, so should not get inside the frame.

Spray.Bike Frame Builder's Cold Zinc - 400ml
Originally, steel bicycles were galvanized before painting to create a protective layer. This affects the lifespan and strength of the paint layer and the frame.
This spray follows exactly this tradition. Simply apply and receive extensive rust protection for your steel frame.

  • Color: gray metallic
  • Spray distance: at least 20 cm
  • 95% Electroplated Zinc
  • Apply to raw steel before painting.
  • Recommended layers: at least 1
  • Drying time: 30 minutes to 1 hour
  • Can be used on steel frames as a nostalgic alternative to Spray.Bike Metal Primer

Using the Frame Builder's Cold-Zinc
Our cold zinc consists of 95% galvanized zinc dust with only 5% binder. Its high purity allows it to be effective both as a primer and as an anti-corrosion (anti-rust) coating. However, since you're spraying almost pure liquid metal, initial use can be a little tricky.
Please maintain a spray distance of at least 20 cm. As with our paints, the ingredients in this can are in powder form - but they are dissolved in liquid which evaporates as it leaves the can. So you spray zinc dust. If you hold the can too far away, the adhesion is too low. If you are too close, the zinc is liquid and runs strongly. We recommend an initial test with something made of plastic or metal that is strong and curved to give you more confidence before using it for the first time.
Please don't exaggerate. A single layer is completely sufficient.
It's a good idea to spray a small amount (just a quick spray) into the seat tube. However, you need to hold the can vertically, so hold the frame vertically to do this.
Although we say this cold zinc should only be used on raw steel, we have had successful results using it as a primer on chrome plating and nickel plating.
You must be careful when using this product as it is made of metal in dust form. So don't breathe it in! Wearing a protective mask is therefore essential.
If this all seems a little too complicated for you, our Frame Builder's Metal Primer is a very good alternative for you. This hi-tech primer is easier and safer to use (almost just like our paints). Please note that this is thick acrylic - so do not spray it inside the seat tube.

Spray.Bike Frame Builder's Carbon Primer - 400ml
This clear primer is specifically designed for raw carbon and resin composite bicycle framesets.

  • Color: transparent
  • Spray distance: at least 20 cm
  • Creates a strong adhesive base for Spray.Bike colored paints
  • Recommended layers: at least 1
  • Drying time: 10-15 minutes
  • Works without any subsequent heat treatment

Using Frame Builder's Carbon Primer
Raw carbon fiber, whether composite or woven, is extremely difficult to paint. Our Carbon Primer is a clever primer that dries with a rough external texture that's so wafer-thin you can't feel or see it. It forms a perfect adhesive base for our paint colors.
Please maintain a spray distance of at least 20 cm and do not use too much of the primer. A single layer is completely sufficient.
It may seem a bit difficult to use at first, but the results will be impressive. At first it will seem like water is running down the frame - but after a short time it will settle down and sit flat on the ground. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you first try it out on something plastic or metal that is solid and curved so that you can understand more clearly how it works.
A little practice will definitely pay off with this spray - after all, you're handling expensive carbon!
If small bubbles or drops are visible after drying, please sand them off carefully. Since this primer is transparent, you can leave unpainted parts with the carbon look but still prime the entire bike.

Spray.Bike Frame Builder's Smoothing Putty - 400ml
A strong filler for worn frames. Easily hides stains, scratches, rust and stickers.

  • Color gray
  • Spray distance: at least 20 cm
  • Perfect for steel, aluminum and carbon
  • Recommended layers: at least 1
  • Easy to sand down
  • Works without any subsequent heat treatment

Using the Frame Builder's Smoothing Putty
This thick, full coverage filler is perfect for chipped frames. Use it to cover minor flaws like scratches, rust damage, and stickers. When spraying, keep the can at least 8 inches from the surface. The filler can be easily sanded after drying. Recommended minimum shift: one.
Note: If you are using Cold-Zinc or Metal Primer, prime first and then apply filler.

Using Frame Builder's Metal Plating
Each of our paints in the metal plating category has a high metal content. We therefore recommend wearing mouth and face protection when using it. Use Spray.Bike Frame Builder's Primer first if the surface is rough. As with our other colors, the metal plating paints can also be used directly on surfaces that have already been sprayed. Nevertheless, you should pay attention to the recommended minimum distance of 20cm, which is slightly larger than with the usual basic colors. One can is enough for a complete frame including fork.
This liquid coating dries hard and cannot be rubbed off. To withstand the weather, we recommend using Frame Builder's Transparent Finish as the final coat.

Spray.Bike Frame Builder's Transparent Finish - Satin/High Gloss - 400ml

Spray.Bike colors are matt. This acrylic clear coat creates a satin or glossy layer.

  • Product color: transparent
  • Spray distance: at least 20 cm
  • Perfect for steel, aluminum and carbon
  • Recommended layers: at least 1
  • One coat: semi-gloss / two or more coats: high gloss
  • Drying time between two coats: 2 hours / Complete curing: at least 24 hours

Spray.Bike Frame Builder's Transparent Finish - Matt - 400ml
This acrylic clear coat creates a matte protective layer over the paint. Perfect for all Spray.Bike colors. Would you like to turn your shiny look into a matte finish? Then this clear varnish is just right!

  • Product color: transparent (Note: shortly after application the varnish shines - but dries very quickly and becomes matt)
  • Spray distance: at least 20 cm
  • Perfect for steel, aluminum and carbon
  • Recommended layers: at least 1
  • Drying time between two coats: 2 hours / Complete curing: at least 24 hours
  • Works without any subsequent heat treatment

Using Frame Builder's Transparent Finish
There are two versions of the transparent varnish. With the glossy option, the result after one coat is satin matt, two or more coats make it high-gloss. The matt version adds a matt top layer and can be used on already sprayed Spray.Bike paints to maintain the matt or on glossy colors to matt them. Note that the matte version appears shiny at first, but it dries very quickly and loses its shine. Make sure the paint is completely dry before using the Transparent Finish. Shake the can well. Observe a minimum distance of 20cm from the surface. Pay attention to constant arm movement when spraying. Apply at least one coat. Drying time between coats: 2 hours / full dry time min. 24 hours.

Spray.Bike Frame Builder's Top Wax - 400ml
Water-based wax suitable for finishing all bicycles.

  • Color: transparent
  • Spraying Instructions: Do not spray directly onto the frame. Instead, spray onto a microfiber cloth or kitchen paper and then apply carefully

  • Does not shine on matt paintwork, so is perfect for all Spray.Bike colors.
  • Contains carnauba wax

Using Frame Builder's Top Wax
The Top Wax is suitable for every bike. A powerful water-based finishing wax, it forms an invisible, micro-thin protective barrier for all painted metal, carbon or even wooden frames. It does not create a shine on matt paintwork and is therefore perfect for all Spray.Bike colors.

We recommend applying the top wax regularly, especially after cleaning your bike.
